It is said the three topics to always avoid in conversation are religion, politics, and sex; namely because discussing them with people of a different opinion than yours can turn uncomfortable and even heated really fast. Yet at TCD we specialize in precisely that (well, we specialize in talking about religion at least…..)

Regardless of what you believe, talking to people you disagree with is key to discovering truth and growing intellectually. If you want to test your own beliefs to see if they are true, you ought to present your beliefs and case for them with someone who rejects them, listen to their case for why, and vice-versa. This is true for religion, and all other controversial subjects. Needless to say, such conversations will only be productive if both parties go in with open minds, their emotions in check, and the intention of learning.

At TCD, we provide resources that will help TCs and non-TCs have pleasant and productive conversations about religion, in which both sides can pursue truth together despite their disagreements.
